Mardi Gras

Sunday on St. Charles Ave. at a crawfish boil.

spent the night before (lundi gras) making a costume with good friends in mid-city and then woke up mardi gras morning at 7 am to start parading and carousing in the Marigny and French Quarter. I wore a white tutu, spandex, converses, a sailor's shirt and a civil war era marching band coat with corresponding cowboy hat and feathers. And I had a mask on. Filled up my camelback with shiraz and went to town. By noon I had taken on a British accent and giggled profusely while looking pensively at the revelry that took over New Orleans all the way home.
